Description

Join Canonical's Sustaining Engineering team to solve critical issues in the open source stack, from bare metal to Kubernetes. You'll troubleshoot and fix problems across Ubuntu, OpenStack, and other cloud technologies, contributing fixes upstream and ensuring the success of enterprise customers.

Requirements

• Professional experience as a software engineer.
• Background in Computer Science, STEM, or similar.
• Strong experience with Linux, OpenStack, Kubernetes, or other cloud technologies.
• Strong development-level experience with Python, Go, C, or C++ on Linux.
• Familiarity with git, troubleshooting with gdb, and an exceptional academic track record.

Responsibilities

• Resolve complex customer problems related to Ubuntu, OpenStack, Kubernetes, and other open source software.
• Maintain close working relationships with Canonical's field, support, and product engineering teams.
• Participate in upstream communities; develop fixes and backport patches for inclusion.
• Review code produced by other engineers and demonstrate good technical judgment.
• Prioritize work, manage time effectively, and maintain clear technical communications.
