Description

You will develop, qualify, and implement tooling and manufacturing processes for plastic injection molding, collaborating with design and supply chain teams to deliver scalable, cost-effective solutions for Starlink satellite components.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, materials engineering, or related
• 1+ years of direct hands-on injection mold design or construction (internship qualifies)
• Willingness to travel ~50% domestically and internationally
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand/walk for long periods
• Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee per ITAR

Responsibilities

• Develop new plastic injection tooling projects for product performance and cosmetic requirements
• Refine design for manufacturing with supply management, product design, and manufacturing engineering
• Research new materials, manufacturing technologies, and finish options
• Estimate prototype and production manufacturing costs including tooling and secondary processes
• Review supplier DFM, including gating strategy, Moldflow, and Mold Warp analysis
