Description

You will define how every builder at Gusto ships high-quality products with AI assistance. You'll lead development of AI tooling that teaches people and LLMs to use the design system correctly and drive experiments to improve AI-assisted builder workflows.

Requirements

• 10+ years frontend engineering experience
• Highly proficient in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, TypeScript
• Experience building developer tooling, plugins, or AI-powered tools
• Familiarity with LLM ecosystems (prompt engineering, MCP, agent skills)
• Experience building modular, composable UI components

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain AI tooling (MCP servers, agent skills, prompts) to enable builders to ship with the design system
• Develop tools to improve quality, performance, and accessibility of reusable components
• Run experiments to test hypotheses about AI-assisted building
• Shadow builders to understand workflows and fix blockers
• Partner with designers to build and maintain reusable component system
