Description

As a Staff Design Release Engineer, you will own the complete design release and integration of the autonomous vehicle's compute and connectivity subsystem, ensuring robust technical execution and production readiness. You will drive the hardware from concept through validation, manage supplier and cross-functional alignment, and lead technical reviews to meet performance, cost, and timing objectives.

Requirements

• 8+ years experience in automotive hardware design and release engineering with Domain Controllers, HPCs, or Telematics units
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, or Systems Engineering
• Deep understanding of compute architectures, high-speed data buses, and wireless connectivity standards
• Expert-level experience with manufacturing BOM and ECN processes
• Familiarity with CAD (NX, CATIA), PLM systems, and functional safety standards (ISO 26262)

Responsibilities

• Own complete design release of compute and connectivity hardware including mechanical, thermal, electrical, and network integration
• Drive technical execution for full product lifecycle from concept to sustaining engineering
• Oversee generation of engineering documentation (models, drawings, BOM, specs, test reports)
• Define and maintain Design Verification Plan Report (DVP&R) ensuring validation against system targets
• Lead ECN process for compute hardware ensuring traceability, cost analysis, and cross-functional buy-in
