As a Junior Ubuntu Software Engineer, you will work on designing, building, and shipping software that powers Ubuntu, the world's most deployed Linux operating system. You'll contribute to foundational systems, server, desktop, or archive teams, and engage with the broader open source community, learning new skills while solving impactful problems.

Requirements

• Exceptional academic track record from high school and university
• Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, STEM, or compelling alternative path
• Passion for open source software
• Experience with Rust, Go, Python, Flutter or C/C++
• Professional written and spoken English

Responsibilities

• Design, build and ship software in Rust, Go, Python and C/C++
• Package, integrate, test, and upload open source software to Ubuntu repositories
• Debug issues and design robust solutions
• Author and improve technical and community documentation
• Contribute to upstream and neighboring open source projects
