Description

As a Staff Data Engineer at Coupang, you'll architect and build scalable data ingestion, data lake, and data warehouse systems that process terabytes of data daily. You'll work closely with business analysts across domains to understand their needs, define core KPIs, and design reliable data products to enable fast, data-driven decision-making.

Requirements

• Bachelor's/Master's in Computer Science or equivalent
• 8+ years experience in Big Data with deep understanding of data modeling and data warehousing
• Strong hands-on experience with Scala/Spark, PySpark, and Hive
• Experience with AWS cloud computing platforms
• Proficiency in Java, Scala, Python, or similar languages

Responsibilities

• Architect and design data ingestion, data lake, data warehouse, and data marts
• Collaborate with business analysts to identify data needs and core KPIs
• Define foundational core data models across business domains
• Design and build reliable data pipelines using Spark, Streaming, Iceberg, Hive
• Drive master data management practices from source to consumer
