💼 About This Role

You'll partner with squads to define event design and data contracts, building a world-class data foundation for SumUp's merchants. Your core impact will be modeling key business domains, such as merchant activity and risk scoring, into trusted, reusable data products. This greenfield role offers the chance to shape how data is owned and scaled at a global fintech company.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Partner on event design and maintain staging pipelines with modeling conventions.
• Model business domains into well-documented, quality-assured data products.
• Build reusable KPI models, funnels, cohorts, and segmentations for self-serve.
• Implement incremental processing and performance optimizations for scalability.

📋 Requirements

• Proven experience in analytics or data engineering with production systems.
• Expert-level SQL for complex transformations and query optimization.
• Hands-on dbt experience including testing, documentation, and modeling.
• Ability to think in business domains translating logic into reusable data models.

✨ Nice to Have

• Familiarity with Snowflake or Iceberg.
• Experience working with Product Managers and Data Scientists.
• Knowledge of data observability and freshness monitoring tools.
