You'll set technical direction for Strava's social platform services, acting as tech lead for a small pod. You'll drive modernization efforts across critical services and ensure platform capabilities align with product roadmaps. This role offers ownership of technical vision for systems backing millions of athletes.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Set technical direction and build roadmap for social platform services.
• Act as tech lead for a pod, facilitating planning and ceremonies.
• Drive modernization and migration of critical platform services.
• Design, build, and review systems across Ruby, Scala, Go, and Kubernetes.

📋 Requirements

• 10+ years of backend/server engineering experience.
• Experience leading technical projects involving multiple engineers.
• Strong system design skills for distributed systems at scale.
• Proficiency in at least one of Ruby, Scala, Go, or Java.

✨ Nice to Have

• Experience with feed systems, social graphs, or recommendation systems.
• Experience with large-scale system migrations.
• Familiarity with server-driven UI patterns.
