Description

As a Senior Staff Engineer at Monzo, you'll provide hands-on technical leadership across multiple squads (30–70+ engineers), partnering with Product and Design leadership to shape strategy and roadmaps. You'll code, design architectures, mentor senior engineers, and ensure alignment with company-wide priorities to drive customer impact.

Requirements

• Proven track record as a Senior Staff Engineer or equivalent IC leadership role
• Expertise in Go and experience with distributed systems (Cassandra, Kafka)
• Experience leading architectural decisions across complex systems
• Strong collaboration skills with product and design partners
• Commitment to technical excellence and mentoring

• Hands-on coding and architecture, leading from the front
