💼 About This Role

You'll join a small, talent-dense AI team at Akur8, building systems that transform millions of messy insurance documents into queryable intelligence embedded in pricing workflows. You'll own the full feedback loop: diagnosing product gaps, building evaluations, and shipping improvements that customers feel. The work spans agent systems, evaluation and data quality, and production engineering in roughly equal measure.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Design and refine tool-calling patterns and agent orchestration for multi-step research tasks
• Build ingestion and normalization systems for complex structured documents at scale
• Develop tooling to measure, profile, and optimize agent pipeline performance
• Run experiments end-to-end and translate findings into product recommendations

📋 Requirements

• 2-5 years of software engineering experience with strong programming fundamentals
• Proficiency with LLM APIs, agent frameworks, and modern retrieval patterns
• Strong track record of shipping high-impact work in ambiguous contexts
• Experience shipping user-facing products, either backend or full-stack

✨ Nice to Have

• Curiosity over domain experience; insurance background not needed
• Excitement about building evaluation infrastructure to rigorously measure improvement
