Description

As a Supplier Development Engineer at SpaceX, you will be the key technical point of contact for assigned parts and systems, solving manufacturing challenges at suppliers to ensure zero disruption to build and launch schedules. You will drive root cause analysis, containment, and corrective actions while partnering with procurement to qualify new suppliers and conduct design for manufacturability reviews.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering
• 3+ years experience with manufacturing/inspection of mechanical products in production environment
• Experience interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T
• Working knowledge of supplier quality processes (PPAP, APQP, FAIR)
• Proficient in SQL and Power BI

Responsibilities

• Act as technical point of contact for assigned parts, solving emergent challenges at suppliers and mitigating risk to manifest
• Lead and coordinate containment activities to mitigate risk to build and launch schedules
• Drive root cause analysis and implement changes at supplier or SpaceX
• Create and disposition issue tickets, working with engineering for rework or repair
• Conduct design for manufacturing (DFM) reviews and own new product introduction (NPI) process at suppliers
