You'll create architectural and micro-architectural models for Waymo's custom ML accelerators, driving optimization of the world's highest performance automotive compute platform. You'll analyze workloads and define micro-benchmarks to achieve functional performance goals. This role offers the chance to work on fully autonomous vehicle technology with a team that has delivered over ten million rider-only trips.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Create architectural and micro-architectural models for ML accelerators
• Analyze workloads and derive representative micro-benchmarks
• Drive equivalence between hardware and simulator implementations
• Build scalable tools for modeling, performance analysis, and optimization

📋 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in CS/CE or equivalent experience
• 7+ years modeling complex high-performance architectures
• Experience with cycle-level simulation frameworks (SystemC, Gem5, etc.)
• Strong C++ programming skills and computer architecture foundation

✨ Nice to Have

• 2+ years modeling CPU, GPU, or NPU architectures
• Track record of building performance analysis tools
• Experience writing microbenchmarks for performance correlation
