💼 About This Role

You'll set the technical vision and architectural direction for Toast's AI-native engineering pod, tackling complex, high-impact problems across product and platform. You'll define how AI-native engineering is done at Toast and spread those patterns organization-wide. This role lets you stay hands-on while influencing at the executive level.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Develop and drive architectural vision for AI Pod
• Lead complex, high-impact initiatives from design to production
• Evolve agentic development practices and champion adoption
• Mentor and develop technical leadership across teams

📋 Requirements

• 12+ years designing scalable distributed systems
• 10+ years building AWS-hosted SaaS products
• Experience building LLM-powered agents and AI-native systems
• Hands-on experience with AI coding agents and agentic development

✨ Nice to Have

• Experience leading a small engineering team (2-4)
• Familiarity with A2A protocols and multi-agent orchestration
• Experience with ML concepts or ML infrastructure
