💼 About This Role

You'll design and develop backend systems powering Hopper's post-booking experience, including AI-driven support and self-service tools. You'll collaborate with product, AI, and operations teams to build scalable microservices that serve millions of travelers. This role offers a chance to shape HTS Assist, Hopper's flagship agentic AI platform.

🎯 What You'll Do

  • Build and improve backend/full-stack systems for HTS Assist and self-service journeys
  • Develop scalable APIs, microservices, and orchestration logic for post-booking flows
  • Integrate external systems (telephony, CRM, identity, booking platforms)
  • Contribute to architecture decisions, code reviews, and reliability improvements

📋 Requirements

  • 3+ years of software engineering experience with distributed systems or customer-facing apps
  • Strong expertise in modern frontend and backend development, distributed systems, and cloud infrastructure
  • Experience designing and maintaining REST APIs, microservices, or event-driven systems
  • Experience with databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, NoSQL) and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP)

  • Experience with conversational AI, LLM orchestration, or automation systems
  • Experience developing customer service tools, CRM, telephony, or contact center workflows
  • Knowledge of React, TypeScript, or modern frontend frameworks
