💼 About This Role

You'll work at the intersection of Engineering, Product, and Finance to drive financial accountability across all engineering spend at Plaid. You'll enable teams to understand, own, and optimize their cloud and SaaS costs while maintaining engineering velocity. This role is key to embedding cost awareness into day-to-day workflows.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Monitor and analyze engineering spend across cloud, AI/ML, data platforms, and SaaS.
• Build and maintain forecasts for engineering spend, partnering with Finance and engineering leaders.
• Lead cost optimization initiatives such as rightsizing and commitment strategies.
• Implement FinOps practices including showback/chargeback models and unit economics.

📋 Requirements

• 6–10+ years of experience at the intersection of engineering, infrastructure, data, or finance in cloud-native or SaaS environments.
• Proven experience partnering with engineering teams to influence cloud infrastructure or SaaS spend decisions.
• Working understanding of modern cloud-native architectures including compute, storage, networking, and data pipelines.
• Strong foundation in cost analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and variance management.

✨ Nice to Have

• Hands-on familiarity with cloud cost management tools (e.g., AWS Cost Explorer, CloudHealth).
• Experience with data platforms and AI/ML workloads, including cost drivers.
• Exposure to showback/chargeback models or product-level unit economics.
