Description

You will develop and maintain analytical models of end-use energy data to produce long-term load and energy forecasts for the New York Control Area. Your work supports grid reliability and clean energy transition by quantifying the impact of distributed energy resources, electrification, and energy efficiency. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and contribute to the annual Load and Capacity Data Report.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Applied Science, Economics, Data Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline
  • 2-3 years of related experience in load forecasting, operations research, applied statistics, or mathematics
  • Experience in analyzing end-use energy data or distributed energy resources

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement procedures for constructing energy consumption metrics across all major consumer sectors
  • Build and assess statistical, engineering, and analytical models of end-use energy under typical and extreme weather conditions
  • Develop long-term forecasts of demand side distributed energy resource impacts
  • Assist in producing grid electrification impacts and CO2 emission reduction estimates
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to maintain accurate capacity information and representative data
