Description

You will work directly with students in the classroom to implement behavior therapy techniques, reduce challenging behaviors, and increase functional skills. You'll collaborate with teachers and school teams to support students with Autism and other developmental disabilities, fostering independence and individuality. This role allows you to make a lasting impact in your local community while growing professionally.

Requirements

• Registered Behavior Technician® (RBT) Certified or the desire to pursue certification (paid for by BAYADA)
• Be at least 18 years of age
• Experience working with children with developmental/intellectual disabilities is a plus, but not required
• An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree OR 48 college credits including Math 100 and English 100 OR Passage of the ParaPro Praxis assessment (BAYADA assistance available)

Responsibilities

• Work directly with students in the classroom, following the established service plan
• Establish and maintain relationships with clients and school teams
• Implement behavior therapy techniques and collaborate with teachers to support the student in the classroom environment
• Document interventions and progress towards goals
• Collect behavior data as specified in client behavior plan
• Provide training, instruction, and assistance to help the student acquire and maintain skills and meet identified goals
• Provide support to the client in interpersonal skills, development, and maintenance of personal relationships, and building independence in their school routine
• Supports school age children to succeed with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
