💼 About This Role

You'll architect the future of data at Mux in a player-coach role, splitting time between hands-on technical work and leading a small team. You'll modernize our data architecture, establish robust governance frameworks, and leverage AI to democratize data access across the company.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Develop and execute comprehensive data strategy for product, marketing, operations, and finance
• Design and implement modern, scalable data pipelines for reliable insights
• Redesign core data models to support new product launches and evolving business complexity
• Build robust data governance frameworks including policies, standards, and ownership models

📋 Requirements

• 8+ years in data engineering, analytics engineering, or data architecture roles
• 3+ years in leadership roles balancing hands-on work with team management
• Expert-level proficiency in SQL, data modeling, and modern data stack (Snowflake, dbt)
• Deep experience designing and implementing data pipelines, transformation logic, and quality frameworks

• Experience in developer tools, API-first companies, or infrastructure businesses
• Experience with business system integrations (ERP, CRM, billing systems)
• Demonstrated success implementing data governance frameworks and quality controls
