Description

You will serve as the primary Radiation Safety Officer for SpaceX Texas operations, act as the company-wide Laser Safety Officer, and own the Chemical Hygiene Plan and hazardous materials safety programs. This critical role ensures full regulatory compliance, risk mitigation, and safe operations across all activities involving radiation, laser systems, and hazardous chemicals, supporting SpaceX's mission to make humanity multiplanetary.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree
• 5+ years of relevant EHS experience with radiation safety in high-hazard environment
• Proven laser and chemical safety oversight experience
• Preferred: Master's in Health Physics, Industrial Hygiene, or related field
• Preferred: Certified Health Physicist (CHP) and Laser Safety Officer (LSO) certifications

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary Radiation Safety Officer for Texas operations, ensuring NRC and state compliance
• Act as company-wide Laser Safety Officer, ensuring ANSI Z136 compliance
• Serve as Chemical Hygiene Officer, managing chemical safety and hazardous materials programs
• Integrate radiation, laser, and chemical safety programs into cohesive EHS framework
• Conduct job hazard analyses, safety reviews, and incident investigations
