Description

You will co-own the technical roadmap for Instacart's ad data solutions, modernizing infrastructure and scaling off-platform integrations, cleanrooms, and taxonomy automation. You'll drive cross-team execution, raise engineering standards, and mentor other engineers while building high-impact features.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience (typically 10+ for this level) with large-scale backend/data systems
• Strong in Python and one of Ruby or Go; services/APIs (REST/gRPC)
• Proven cross-team project leadership and architectural decision-making

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture for scalable systems across off-platform, cleanrooms, taxonomy, and platform
• Drive modernization: core abstractions, CI/CD, observability, cost efficiency
• Expand and harden off-platform integrations, measurement pipelines, and privacy-forward workflows
• Extend cleanroom orchestration, governance tooling, and query templates for cost/performance
• Mentor L4/L5 engineers, set code quality standards, and act as IC tech lead
