You'll shape and grow The Cut's first-person and opinion-driven storytelling, working closely with writers to develop distinctive voices and sharp arguments. Your impact will be publishing essays and columns that feel urgent, intimate, and culturally resonant. This role combines editing, commissioning, and story strategy, ideal for someone attuned to internet conversation and personal writing.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Edit and publish recurring columns and essays from ideation through final copy
• Manage a rolling slate of stories from mini features to longform features
• Collaborate with writers to develop strong points of view and narrative arcs
• Monitor culture trends, celebrity news, and politics for timely content

📋 Requirements

• 5+ years experience editing essays, columns, or features
• Strong editorial point of view and understanding of The Cut's voice
• Proven ability to edit personal writing with sensitivity and structural rigor
• Experience commissioning and developing writers across career stages
