Description
You will inspect structural steel fabrication and field erection activities for cable stayed bridge and transportation programs, including welded and bolted connections, material certification, fracture-critical members, cable stressing, and protective coatings systems. Work may occur in fabrication shops or active construction sites.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience on structural steel bridge systems
- Knowledge of welded and bolted connections and fracture-critical members
- Experience in complex environments with quality and documentation standards
- Ability to work in fabrication shops and active construction sites
- Familiarity with QA/QC programs and applicable codes
Responsibilities
- Inspect structural steel fabrication and field erection activities
- Verify compliance with shop drawings, specifications, and codes
- Perform inspections per QA/QC programs and ITPs
- Review welding procedures, PQRs, welder qualifications, and mill test reports
- Inspect bridge deck systems, bearings, expansion joints, and post-tensioning
