Description

You will design and lead the contractor governance strategy across engineering, establishing KPIs, SLAs, and vendor performance evaluations to optimize the blended FTE-contractor model. This strategic, technical operator role partners with Engineering leadership to ensure cost transparency, delivery outcomes, and long-term scalability.

Requirements

• Foundation in software engineering or technical program leadership
• Experience operating inside blended FTE + contractor environments
• Direct ownership of contractor governance or engineering workforce strategy
• Comfort defining delivery KPIs (velocity, predictability, quality, cost efficiency)
• Ability to speak both engineering and business fluently

Responsibilities

• Establish productivity and performance KPIs for third-party engineering teams
• Define and enforce SLAs aligned to engineering delivery standards
• Evaluate contractor effectiveness across multiple vendors
• Create visibility into total cost of ownership and contractor ROI
• Build a repeatable governance model balancing speed, accountability, and cost discipline
