💼 About This Role

You'll join the Planner Evaluation team at Waymo to measure and improve the quality of the autonomous driving software. You'll develop signals using statistics, math, and machine learning to evaluate the Waymo Driver's performance and drive data-driven decisions. This hybrid role offers the chance to work on cutting-edge autonomous vehicle technology with a world-class team.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Develop signals for driving performance using statistics and ML
• Use simulation and real-world logs to measure driving performance
• Design methods to connect software changes to simulated outcomes
• Analyze data and improve metric quality and interpretability

📋 Requirements

• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, or quantitative field
• 3+ years of industry experience with C++, Python, and SQL
• Experience building data processing pipelines
• Strong quantitative and data fluency

• Experience coding in C++
• Experience with machine learning
• Experience with A/B experiment infrastructure
