💼 About This Role

You'll design and optimize high-voltage power systems for Helion's fusion generators, supporting energy delivery to pulsed magnetics and grid-tie infrastructure. Your work will be foundational to delivering clean, low-cost electricity from the world's first fusion power plant. This onsite role reports to the Manager of Electrical Engineering at our Everett, WA office.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Design, test, and support high-voltage power systems for pulsed magnetic coils
• Oversee procurement, construction, and commissioning of <1 ms pulse systems up to 5 MA
• Develop system architectures and collaborate on schematics and installation drawings
• Lead design reviews for cost-effective, scalable, and reliable solutions

📋 Requirements

• 12+ years experience in power electronics from design to delivery
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field
• Hands-on experience designing, fabricating, installing, and testing electronic systems
• Strong knowledge of solid-state switching technologies (IGBTs, MOSFETs, SCRs)

✨ Nice to Have

• Experience with high-power pulsed systems
• Proficiency with LTSpice, SIMetrix/SIMPLIS, Altium, and MATLAB
• Familiarity with grid-tie infrastructure and energy recovery systems
