πΌ About This Role
You'll direct EMT studies and grid integration modeling for ON.energy's inverter-based power systems deployed at gigawatt scale. Your work will ensure compliance with interconnection standards and bridge simulation to hardware for controls development and product improvement.
π― What You'll Do
- Lead EMT modeling studies for interconnection applications and compliance milestones.
- Develop and maintain detailed EMT models in PSCAD, PSSE, or equivalent platforms.
- Perform and review grid interconnection studies (fault response, ride-through, stability).
- Translate simulation findings into control system requirements and tuning recommendations.
π Requirements
- M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on EMT modeling for inverter-based resources (PSCAD, EMTP).
- Deep expertise in power electronics, BESS, and grid-forming/following controls.
- Proven track record supporting interconnection applications for utility-scale projects.
β¨ Nice to Have
- Experience with HIL validation and model-to-hardware correlation.
- Knowledge of IEEE 2800, NERC standards, and regional ISO requirements.
- Familiarity with energy management systems (EMS) and plant control strategies.
