Description

You'll design, build, and operate scalable backend services for the notification platform at Realtor.com, powering preferences, home alerts, and delivery across push and email channels using event-driven architectures on AWS. Your work directly impacts millions of consumers by delivering timely, reliable communications, and you'll leverage AI coding assistants to accelerate development and focus on high-impact engineering challenges.

Requirements

• Proficient in backend languages and frameworks (Node.js/TypeScript, Java/Kotlin, or Python)
• Experience with event-driven architectures, Kafka, and AWS services (EKS, Lambda, SQS)
• Experience with MongoDB, Redis, and designing scalable data models
• Strong observability practices with monitoring tools like New Relic and Splunk
• Experience utilizing AI coding assistants and LLMs to accelerate development and verify outputs for security and accuracy

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable backend services and APIs for notification preferences, delivery, and storage using Node.js/TypeScript, Java/Kotlin, or Python on AWS
• Extend event-driven architecture with Kafka, SQS, and AWS services to reduce latency and improve reliability for push and email sends
• Build and maintain data models with MongoDB Atlas and Redis for high-volume reads/writes and notification history
• Implement CI/CD pipelines (CircleCI, GitHub, Argo) ensuring safe deployments with automated test coverage
• Own service health including metrics, logging, tracing, dashboards, alerts using New Relic and Splunk; participate in on-call rotation
