You will work with top OEM, IHV, and ODM partners to pre-load Ubuntu on their systems, ensuring high-quality Ubuntu certified devices reach millions of users. This role involves deep Linux system knowledge, debugging, and collaboration with open source communities to deliver the best user experience.

Requirements

• Participation in open-source development projects
• Passion for Linux and open source projects
• Strong English-language communication skills (mailing lists, IRC)
• Excellent time-management skills
• Self-disciplined and self-motivated in a globally-distributed team

Responsibilities

• Triage and fix critical system-level problems with project managers and QA engineers
• Collaborate with upstream projects to apply patches for OEM/ODM customer bugs
• Champion locally-developed patches for inclusion in upstream packages
• Provide software and system engineering services for OEM and ODM customers
• Occasional international travel to EU, USA, China, and Taiwan
