💼 About This Role

You'll lead OpenAI's global import customs strategy and operating model, building scalable systems that embed trade compliance into sourcing and logistics. Your work will enable the company to navigate complex cross-border regulations at the pace of AI development. You'll also shape how OpenAI applies AI and agentic workflows to policy-heavy import work, making complex rules easier to scale and execute.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Define import customs strategy and operating model.
• Oversee HTS classification, valuation, and origin governance.
• Partner with Engineering and Finance on landed-cost models.
• Lead broker strategy and performance management.
• Scale import documentation and supplier onboarding requirements.

📋 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in trade operations or law.
• Significant experience leading customs or trade operations in high-tech domains.
• Deep expertise in trade law including classification and valuation.
• Experience supporting hardware development and cross-border execution.
