💼 About This Role

You'll implement cross-region replication for a Tier-1 US payments platform migrating from single-region to multi-region AWS architecture. You'll build replication, failover, and observability tooling for databases including Aurora MySQL, Cassandra, and DynamoDB.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Implement cross-region replication for databases like Aurora MySQL or DynamoDB.
• Codify infrastructure in Terraform or CDK for multi-region setups.
• Build observability for replication health using Datadog and CloudWatch.
• Author and execute failover runbooks and game-day exercises.
• Support CDC pipelines for migrating from monolith to microservices.

📋 Requirements

• 5+ years in production database engineering on AWS with financial-services workloads.
• Deep production experience with at least two of: Aurora MySQL, Cassandra, DynamoDB, ElastiCache, DocumentDB, Neptune.
• Practical experience with cross-region replication in production.
• Strong Terraform or CDK skills to build multi-region modules.
