💼 About This Role

You'll join Sotheby's engineering team to build and operate systems for auctions and art commerce, working on internal tooling, client-facing products, or real-time infrastructure. Your work will directly support some of the most high-stakes transactions in the art world, with real ownership of the systems you build.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Design and deploy distributed services and microservices
• Write maintainable code in Go, React/TypeScript, or Scala
• Operate and troubleshoot production systems during incidents
• Collaborate across teams to deliver pragmatic solutions

📋 Requirements

• 5+ years of production software engineering experience
• Strong experience with distributed systems and microservices
• Solid relational database knowledge, PostgreSQL preferred
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS) and containerization

✨ Nice to Have

• Experience with Go, React/TypeScript, or Scala
• Knowledge of event-driven architectures or streaming platforms
• Experience with API design (GraphQL, gRPC, REST)
