Description

As a Senior Software Engineer I in Central Engineering at Careem, you will lead AI-augmented development, design scalable full-stack features, mentor engineers, and drive operational excellence. You'll own large components of our ecosystem and use AI tools to accelerate the software development lifecycle.

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional software development experience
• AI-first mindset with integrated AI tools daily
• Proficiency in Go, Java, or Node.js and React/TypeScript
• Advanced knowledge of REST/gRPC, message brokers, SQL/NoSQL
• Deep familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and AWS

Responsibilities

• Lead AI-driven development using tools like Claude Code and LLMs
• Design, develop, and maintain complex full-stack features
• Contribute to system architecture for scalable microservices
• Mentor engineers and maintain high code quality through reviews
• Participate in on-call rotations and incident post-mortems
