Description

You will define the technical vision and architectural roadmap for Klaviyo's developer infrastructure, focusing on backend dependencies and platform upgrades to accelerate engineering velocity across the company. This role involves strategic planning, dependency management, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration to enhance developer productivity and system reliability.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in software development
• Strong knowledge of computer science fundamentals and domain-driven design
• Extensive expertise in architectural patterns for distributed systems
• Experience as a go-to expert for diagnosing complex performance, scalability, and reliability issues
• Proven ability to partner cross-functionally with product, security, and hardware teams

Responsibilities

• Define technical strategy and execute improvements for backend architecture, products, infrastructure, and processes
• Lead dependency management for backend and third-party dependencies, ensuring security, performance, and reliability
• Oversee seamless rollouts of major software releases and updates from design to production
• Drive initiatives to improve developer productivity metrics such as PR CI speed and commit velocity
• Mentor senior and lead engineers to develop their skills and grow within the organization
