💼 About This Role

You'll join the SPARC Tokamak team to handle, splice, and test thousands of optical fibers inside a fusion power plant. You'll ensure fiber integrity for R&D and production, working alongside technicians and engineers to advance commercial fusion energy. This role directly contributes to making Earth sustainable.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Handle, route, splice, test, and repair fibers in the SPARC fusion machine
• Perform mechanical integration of small fiber assemblies and enclosures
• Install composite/polymer wrappings for fibers and enclosures
• Train other technicians in fiber installation, splicing, and measurement procedures

📋 Requirements

• 4+ years experience in fiber optics field applications
• Experience with OTDR, OSA, OBR, power meter attenuation and loss measurements
• Fiber handling in a lab setting with known standards
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in confined spaces or at heights

✨ Nice to Have

• 7+ years experience in fiber optics
• Experience designing cryogen and vacuum fiber cable assemblies
• Teaching/training experience in fiber splicing
