Description

You will own the thermal design, analysis, and testing of space hardware, using first principles and simulation tools to define thermal architecture and ensure mission success. You will develop internal tools, manage vendor relationships, and support failure reviews, all while communicating technical status to customers and internal teams.

Requirements

• BS/MS or higher in engineering, applied physics, or hard science
• Demonstrated knowledge of heat transfer in academic or professional setting
• Proficiency in Thermal Desktop or equivalent thermal simulation tool
• Hands-on experience prototyping hardware and conducting thermal tests
• CAD experience (Siemens NX preferred); eligible to obtain U.S. security clearance

Responsibilities

• Own thermal design, analysis, test, and component vendor management for space hardware
• Execute hand calculations, spreadsheets, and MATLAB/Python first-order models to inform design decisions
• Define thermal architecture and quantify hot/cold/edge cases to withstand space environments
• Develop and execute thermal tests to reduce risk and inform analysis
• Present thermal status at formal reviews internally and with customers
