Description

You will join the Server Ingress Security team, rearchitecting MongoDB Server’s ingress networking to build a performant, security-critical Atlas Network Protection layer. As a founding member, you will define the technical strategy and implement production-ready security services in Rust, collaborating across teams to enhance security posture. Your work will harden MongoDB's pre-authentication attack surface and enable rapid response to emergent threats.

Requirements

• 10+ years experience building production-quality systems software with large user base and robust design.
• Experience with large backend/compiled codebases and performance-sensitive software, preferably in Rust.
• Strong systems fundamentals: multi-threaded programming and performance profiling.
• Excellent verbal and written technical communication skills.
• Proven mentorship skills and excitement about leveling up peers.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive technical strategy for Ingress Security, collaborating with stakeholders across Server, Atlas, SRE, and Product Security.
• Design, implement, and operate production-ready security services in Rust with focus on security, correctness, performance, and operational excellence.
• Advise on engineering complexity, risk, and inter-project dependencies.
• Handle time-sensitive escalations and production incidents requiring expert support.
• Interview candidates and cultivate team talent bench.
