Description

You will drive the scale-up and manufacturing of non-canonical amino acids (ncAAs) by optimizing synthetic routes, improving yields, and ensuring safety and quality standards. As a key hands-on contributor, you will execute chemical unit operations, operate pilot/manufacturing equipment, and support the transfer of processes from lab to commercial scale.

Requirements

• BS or MS in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or related field
• Minimum 4 years hands-on industrial experience in organic chemistry, process chemistry, or chemical production
• At least 3 years experience in a piloting, manufacturing, or production environment with chemical processing
• Experience with chemical reactors (100L-1000L) and drum quantities of chemicals
• Working knowledge of quality requirements and good documentation practices

Responsibilities

• Execute chemical unit operations (biocatalytic/chemical reactions, filtrations, purifications) to produce high-quality ncAA products
• Set up, operate, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment (reactors 10L-1000L, filters, pumps)
• Perform scale-up and scale-down procedures for chemical reactions and unit operations
• Conduct in-process testing using TLC, HPLC, LCMS, pH meter
• Maintain raw material inventories and perform container change-outs
