Description

As a Staff Software Engineer at CompanyCam, you'll provide technical leadership across five product teams, owning core features like the camera pipeline and notifications. You'll focus on architectural decisions, mentorship, and evolving engineering practices while contributing to backend systems in Ruby on Rails.

Requirements

• Extensive professional experience building and leading software systems (typically 15+ years)
• Deep proficiency in Ruby on Rails (minimum 7 years)
• Strong OOP and backend system design fundamentals
• Experience designing and operating systems with PostgreSQL and REST APIs in high-traffic environments
• Familiarity with AWS cloud infrastructure

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance across five core product teams
• Float across teams to support high-priority projects and unblock engineers
• Design and evolve backend systems in Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, and REST APIs
• Proactively identify and mitigate technical risks
• Mentor senior and frontend-focused engineers in Ruby on Rails
