You'll own and improve components of the metrics pipeline at Observe by Snowflake, enabling users to query, visualize, and alert on billions of time series. You'll drive performance and scalability improvements and contribute to architectural decisions for the next-generation metrics platform. This role offers high ownership and high impact with real customer pain today and foundational work for the future.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Own and improve components of the metrics pipeline across ingestion, storage, and query execution.
• Design and run experiments to validate architectural changes before full implementation.
• Investigate and resolve customer-reported performance issues in the metrics domain.
• Collaborate with the broader Metrics team on cross-cutting concerns and architecture.

📋 Requirements

• 5+ years of industry experience building backend distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience building and optimizing data pipelines, query engines, or storage systems.
• Strong foundations in algorithms, data structures, and distributed systems architecture.
• Ability to rapidly onboard to complex, unfamiliar systems and drive meaningful improvements.

• Experience with time-series databases like Prometheus, InfluxDB, or TimescaleDB.
• Experience with Snowflake or other cloud data warehouses for low-latency queries.
• Prior work on observability, monitoring, or telemetry platforms.
