Description

In this role, you will provide fire protection consulting services on client sites, leading a team of engineers and specialty consultants. You will collaborate with building owners, developers, architects, and contractors on a variety of projects, performing fire protection engineering services such as life safety code consulting, fire protection design, and performance-based solution development.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher.
• 5+ years of experience in fire protection engineering.
• Licensed as a professional engineer in Texas preferred.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Local to Austin, TX; Allen, TX; Houston, TX; or Denver, CO metro areas; ability to travel to job sites.

Responsibilities

• Perform life safety code consulting, fire protection design, fire alarm/mass notification design, smoke control design, hazardous materials consulting, system commissioning, and performance-based solution development.
• Develop plans, specifications, and inspection reports.
• Assist in resolution of design problems through field investigations, research, and detailed design work.
• Conduct building code analyses, egress analyses, fire detection and alarm system reviews, smoke control reviews, and sprinkler/water supply reviews including hydraulic calculations.
• Manage projects including proposal development, scope/schedule/budget management, resource coordination, and client interaction.
