You will lead the Automation Platform, a large-scale conversational AI system, and collaborate with AI/ML teams to build backend systems that enhance customer service for Airbnb's community. Your work directly impacts efficiency and brand loyalty.

Requirements

• 9+ years of software development experience in service-oriented architectures and backend development
• Expertise in workflow optimization and backend systems
• Expertise in prompt engineering for AI/LLM scenarios
• Expertise in RAG patterns, memory routing, and agent planning
• Proficiency in crafting backend systems with focus on quality, efficiency, and resilience
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills
• Bachelor's/Master's/PhD in Computer Science or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

• Lead the Automation Platform, a large-scale conversational AI platform
• Automate provisioning for internal human agents and AI agents
• Contribute to Airbnb-wide initiatives like Services, Experiences, multi-region resiliency
• Raise the bar on technical quality through roadmap planning and architecture reviews
• Partner with Product, Data, Science, Operations, and engineering teams to drive success metrics
