Description

You will lead machine safety efforts for automated production equipment at a solid rocket motor facility, ensuring design, validation, and operation meet the highest safety standards. You'll act as the safety expert during commissioning, conduct hazard analyses, and architect safety systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Robotics/Controls, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or similar
• 8+ years of machine safety experience in a production environment
• Certification: Functional Safety [TUV Rheinland], Functional Safety Engineer [TUV SUD], or CMSE [TUV NORD]
• Deep knowledge in selection, integration, and validation of safety hardware
• Familiar with CAD packages including NX, Solidworks, or AutoCAD

Responsibilities

• Lead machine safety efforts for manufacturing process equipment
• Be safety expert during design, commissioning, and validation of automated equipment
• Determine relevant safety standards and conduct hazard analysis/risk assessments
• Architect safety systems including E-Stops, scanners, light curtains, door interlocks
• Investigate and provide corrective actions for equipment safety failures or workplace injuries
