Description

You will provide full-time engineering and technical support at a high-profile government location near Washington, DC, with a hybrid schedule. This role involves design review, commissioning services, and performance-based fire engineering for fire protection, alarm, and life safety systems.

Requirements

• Minimum 7+ years experience in life safety, active/passive fire protection, and fire alarm systems
• Strong background in NFPA codes and standards, and Unified Facilities Criteria
• Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred
• Excellent report writing and interpersonal skills
• Ability to present clear and technically sound fire protection engineering strategies

Responsibilities

• Conduct design review and commissioning for fire protection, alarm, and life safety systems
• Perform construction surveys, inspections, and develop/execute functional performance tests
• Evaluate designs for code compliance and owner intent
• Develop statements of work for built environment projects
• Assess existing facilities for code compliance and recommend improvements
