Description

As a Materials Engineer on the propulsion materials team, you'll provide materials expertise to support the design and manufacturing of rocket engines for vehicles like Starship and Falcon. You'll focus on additive manufacturing of metals, improving materials and processes to increase reliability, and collaborating with engineering teams to solve complex challenges.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in materials engineering or other engineering discipline with emphasis on materials
• 2+ years of professional work experience in a materials engineering related role

Responsibilities

• Provide materials and process support for propulsion system designs and manufacturing
• Increase reliability of designs and manufacturing through material and process development
• Develop physical, mechanical, and thermal properties for materials
• Improve additive processes and materials through characterization and development
• Perform root cause investigations using fractography, metallography, and testing
