Description

You will lead the development and delivery of post-graduate programs in business, economics, finance, and international trade at the African Leadership University. Your role includes teaching, research, faculty leadership, and ensuring financial sustainability and quality standards, all while contributing to ALU's mission of developing Africa's future leaders.

Requirements

• Doctoral degree (preferably PhD) in Business, Finance, Management, or related field
• Minimum 5 years postdoctoral experience in senior administrative position in a university (preferably business school)
• Minimum 5 years professional industry leadership experience in business, finance, entrepreneurship, or related fields
• Academic and/or industry experience must include substantive experience in Africa
• Experience with regulatory and accreditation bodies
• Strong people leadership skills with proven track record in driving high performing teams, including leading faculty
• Strong passion for leadership, entrepreneurship and innovation with continuous learning mindset
• Demonstrable success in strategic planning, fiscal management, and resource allocation
• Deep expertise in curriculum design and evaluation methods for faculty and staff
• Ability to collaborate in and with diverse teams
• Ability to perform under pressure and cope with tight deadlines
• Exposure to start-up culture (preferable)
• Believe in potential of students as active participants in learning
• Based in East Africa, with strong preference for Mauritius or Rwanda, or willingness to relocate

Responsibilities

• Drive financial sustainability through revenue growth and cost management
• Develop and deliver post-graduate programs in Business, Economics, Finance, and International Trade
• Serve as instructional faculty within the School of Business
• Devise and foster research objectives through publications, collaborations, and academic supervision
• Contribute to positioning ALU's business education as best in Africa
• Ensure integration of undergraduate and postgraduate programs and alignment with industry needs
• Foster high standards of quality business education in collaboration with LEDI, Deans, and QA teams
• Ensure safety and well-being of all young persons and vulnerable adults
