Description
As a Principal Engineer in Agoda's Back End Engineering team, you will lead the development of AI-powered data querying solutions and shape the evolution of data quality tools and analytical engines like StarRocks. You will drive innovation across AI, data infrastructure, and reliability domains while mentoring engineers.
Requirements
- 10+ years in software or data engineering
- Strong hands-on with SQL and large-scale data systems
- Experience with modern analytical databases (StarRocks, Snowflake, BigQuery, ClickHouse)
- Backend development in Python, Java, Scala or similar
- Experience building AI/LLM-based applications (e.g., text-to-SQL)
Responsibilities
- Lead development of AI-powered data querying using natural language
- Architect scalable data quality tools and frameworks
- Act as hands-on technical leader across AI query engines and data systems
- Collaborate on technical vision and roadmap for AI-driven querying
- Mentor engineers and raise standards across data platform
