You will guide middle school students through a rigorous early college experience, teaching visual and digital arts while integrating content across disciplines. Your role involves designing curricula, assessing student progress, and collaborating with families and colleagues to ensure academic mastery.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree
• Minimum of 1-2 years teaching experience with an underserved population
• Quantifiable track record of outstanding academic results
• Valid State Certification preferred
• Expert in content knowledge in Visual and Digital Arts
• Ability to work across disciplines to integrate content and co-plan with other departments
• Familiarity and comfort with Google Classroom
• Ability to stay organized and thrive with a digital curriculum

Responsibilities

• Implement curricula and activities to meet academic standards
• Design and implement assessments that measure progress towards academic standards
• Use assessment data to refine curriculum and inform instructional practices
• Provide consistent rewards and/or consequences for student behavior
• Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues
• Participate in collaborative curriculum development, grade-level activities, and school-wide functions
• Prepare lessons on art and art history in accordance with students' learning objectives
• Teach knowledge and skills in art, including drawing, painting, lettering, and art history
• Demonstrate techniques in activities such as drawing and painting
• Apply elements of design and modern principles of art
