💼 About This Role

You'll apply advanced power system theory and simulation expertise to design and validate high-performance microgrid control systems for gigawatt-scale datacenter infrastructure. You'll partner with controls engineers and utilities to develop EMT and dynamic models and validate controller behavior across normal and contingency conditions. This role is part of a team proving what's possible for the largest energy challenges on the planet.

🎯 What You'll Do

  • Build EMT and dynamic models for microgrid components
  • Simulate contingency events to validate system stability
  • Partner with engineering teams and suppliers on model design
  • Support SIL/HIL testing and field validation

📋 Requirements

  • M.S. or PhD in Electrical Engineering with power systems focus
  • 4-8+ years performing EMT and dynamic power system studies for microgrids
  • Hands-on experience with PSCAD or similar EMT tools
  • Strong understanding of inverter operating modes like grid-forming and grid-following

✨ Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with Simulink or Modelica
  • Knowledge of utility interconnection requirements in ERCOT
  • Experience modeling datacenter loads
