Description

You will architect large-scale LLM infrastructure, evaluation, and data systems that power AI and agent-driven experiences across BILL's products. You'll lead architectural strategy, build reusable ML frameworks, drive applied research, and shape the AI roadmap for the company.

Requirements

• Proven leadership in complex, high-impact AI projects from ideation to production, focusing on large-scale distributed systems and cloud infrastructure.
• Deep expertise in building backend systems for AI-driven products, with focus on scalability and maintainability of LLM architectures.
• Expert-level experience in building complex data pipelines (ETL, cleaning, structuring) for mission-critical AI systems.
• Ability to bridge theoretical ML research and production engineering with measurable outcomes.
• Strong communication skills with history of shaping team goals, defining standards, and raising technical profile.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural strategy and design for end-to-end ML systems, owning operational roadmap for production inference, fine-tuning, and LLM orchestration at scale.
• Develop and standardize reusable ML modeling frameworks, high-performance data pipelines, and internal libraries for performance, accuracy, and explainability.
• Lead applied research initiatives, designing experiments that push AI capabilities and turn innovations into institutional knowledge.
• Oversee evolution of data infrastructure, ensuring ETL processes and datasets are scalable and maintainable.
• Identify emerging AI opportunities, shape strategic goals, influence AI roadmap, and mentor junior engineers.
