💼 About This Role

You'll own the clinical strategy of Sana's health plan, ensuring high-quality, cost-effective care as the clinical authority on the payer side. You'll define coverage policies, utilization decisions, and cost containment initiatives that translate into real outcomes. This role offers real ownership over how a modern health plan works in a mission-driven startup.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Define and execute payer clinical strategy and coverage policies.
• Lead a small clinician team for complex case management and utilization review.
• Drive cost containment initiatives including pharmacy strategy and benefit design.
• Partner with underwriting to assess clinical risk for employer groups.

📋 Requirements

• MD or DO with board certification
• 8+ years of experience in clinical care and payer-side work
• Licensed in Texas or willingness to obtain licensure
• Deeply comfortable making tradeoffs between cost, access, and outcomes

• Prior startup or early-stage experience
• Experience with SQL and BI tools like Tableau or Mode
